During the day, your battery charges from the solar for use during an outage. Any excess solar provides power to your home. Any further excess is exported to the grid. Electricity gets imported from the grid when your home needs more power than solar can provide.
During the night, your home uses electricity from the grid. The battery powers your home only during an outage.
Savings Mode
The objective of this mode is to avoid using electricity from the grid during peak hours when your electricity cost is higher.
During peak hours, your home is powered by the battery as a first choice, solar as the second choice and the grid as the third choice. Any excess solar not used by your home gets exported to the grid.
Use this mode to save on your electricity bill. You can also enable “Energy Independence after peak hours” option to increase your Energy Independence along with Savings.
Self-Consumption
The objective of this mode is to minimize the use of electricity from the grid.
During the day, your home is powered by solar. Any excess solar charges the battery. Any further excess is exported to the grid.
During the night, your home is powered by the battery. Electricity gets imported from the grid when your home needs more power than solar and battery can provide together.
Use this mode to increase your Energy Independence from the utility grid.
